If the recent news regarding the Wonder Woman-inspired 2013 Kia Sportage that our favorite automaker commissioned to battle hunger in Africa, giving back just comes with the territory for the brass at Kia. It's just one of the many reasons we're so proud to associate ourselves with this fabulous lineup of new and used cars here at Lithia Kia of Anchorage, because it seems like there isn't a week that goes by that they aren't out to change the world.
Take for instance their continued partnership with DonorsChoose.org to support the education of our nation's youth. Last year, Kia matched the financial support of some 21,000 citizen philanthropists and donated over $2.1 million to provide resources and learning materials to classrooms across the US. This year, they're hoping to bring that number up to an even $5 million. As for why they're going the extra mile like this, it's just what Kia does.
"As we grow, our culture and core values compel us to give back to the communities that we call home and contribute to a better future for all," says Byung Mo Ahn, group president and CEO of Kia Motors America. "The overwhelming response to last year's collaboration with DonorsChoose.org was truly inspiring, and we are determined to help even more children - and teachers - in need in 2013."1
Their partnership also coincides with the upcoming debut of a new racing edition of the 2013 Kia Optima. So if you'd like to see it in the metal, then you'd best book that ticket to New York City this month.
Or if you'd rather hear more about how Kia is working to change lives, we'd be happy to give you the scoop at our dealership here in Anchorage, AK. The pride is just contagious.
