Even if you're not all that familiar with the ins and outs of the auto industry, chances are you're aware of our friends at J.D. Power & Associates. After years spent surveying millions of customers just like you and us about the products that make our world go round, it's no wonder why their opinion of our new and used car lineup means so much to us here at Lithia Kia of Anchorage. It's enough to make or break a company and their products, but we're not the type to worry. We work for Kia.

Just recently, the gang at J.D. Power released the findings of their 2013 Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) Study. They asked 83,000 individuals who purchased a new vehicle between February and May of 2013 and asked for their feedback based on the experiences during the first 90 days of owning their respective vehicles. Each person evaluated their vehicle according to 77 different categories that ran the gamut from curb appeal to overall performance.

So when the dust finally cleared and three Kia models walked away with top honors, it was a cause for celebration for our favorite automaker.

"Kia's rankings in the J.D. Power APEAL Study are a tribute to the tremendous strength of our model line," says Michael Sprague, executive vice president of marketing and communications at Kia Motors America. "Kia has become an industry leader for design, quality safety and user-friendly technology, and delivering all of these world-class attributes at a great value is central to our brand promise."1

As for the award-winning models in question, you've got the 2013 Kia Soul that earned top honors in the "Compact Multi-Purpose Vehicle" category for the second year straight, plus the 2013 Kia Optima and 2013 Kia Rio that earned silver medals in the "Midsize" and "Sub-Compact" categories, respectively. And if you'd like to see for yourself why 83,000 people are so crazy about them, your test drive awaits you at our dealership here in Anchorage, AK.
