In Anchorage, AK, we've got just about every driving challenge you could think of, from bad weather to rough terrain. You name it, we drive in it. So when we heard about Kia's newest concept model, unveiled at February's Chicago Auto Show, we couldn't help but be impressed here at Lithia Kia of Anchorage.
The Kia Trail'ster concept is based heavily on the Kia Soul (and some say will eventually be added as a package/trim option onto the Soul), and features a hybrid electric engine, a powerful all-wheel-drive system, off-road-ready body modifications like aluminum skid plates and an increased ride height, and even a retractable canvas roof.
Though this new concept does look ready to drive--and would fit in quite well as an Alaskan hatchback option!--we can't be sure yet if it will go into production, whether as a sibling to the Kia Soul or as its own independent model in the new Kia lineup.
Check out its debut below, and let us know what you think of this sporty, eco-friendly concept hatch.
