Don't just cruise control, take complete control of your cruise in the 2016 Kia Optima with advanced smart cruise control paired with autonomous emergency braking.
This intuitive system works similarly to a traditional cruise control system in that, when you're cruising down the highway at a steady speed, you simply press a steering wheel mounted control to set your speed--at which point, you can take your foot off the gas and your ride will maintain its pace. But whereas with a traditional cruise control, if the car in front of you began to brake or you needed to slow down for whatever reason, you would have to manually brake, ultimately cancelling the cruise, smart cruise control is, well, smarter than that.
Using sensors on the front of the vehicle, the system can sense when the vehicle in front of you is slowing down and automatically adjusts your speed accordingly with no driver input needed. And should a complete stop be necessary, the autonomous emergency braking aspect of the feature will apply the brakes automatically.
