Metallic pads are made from metal shavings including copper, brass, and steel which are bonded together with resin to create a more durable product. Often referred to as semi-metallic because of this unique design, these brake system components are universal and used for all types of vehicles and driving conditions.

Ceramic pads are made up of hardened ceramic materials. Known to produce less brake dust, these products were first manufactured for the health and safety of the environment.

While organic brake pads are a little costlier than the other two options, they are made from what is considered to be natural materials including rubber, Kevlar, and glass. These products are safe for the environment and known to have the longer life.
